Welcome to The Wheels, your go-to solution for bike rentals. By accessing or using our services, you agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully before proceeding.
To rent a bike from THE WHEELS, you must meet the following criteria:
Document Submission Guidelines
Before receiving the vehicle, you are required to provide the following documents to The Wheels:
- A valid driving license that allows you to operate a motorcycle, with or without gears, depending on the vehicle you plan to rent, in accordance with Indian law.
- If any submitted documents are found to be false or invalid, penalties will be imposed.
- You must submit your original Driving License to the delivery executive when picking up the bike.
- Additionally, you need to provide a valid local address proof, which could include a Company ID, Hotel Receipt, or any other acceptable proof of address, to the delivery executive.
- The Wheels team will also verify the emergency contact number you provide.
RESERVATION, PAYMENT, AND CANCELLATION
- All reservations must be made in advance. When booking, you are required to pay the full rental amount.
- If you need to cancel or shorten your rental period, you can do so free of charge by contacting us via email or phone at least one day before your booking date. For cancellations made on the day of the booking, a cancellation fee will apply as per the pricing Policy.
- If you wish to extend your rental, you must contact The Wheels to make the request. Please note that The Wheels is not obligated to approve an extension. Approval will depend on two conditions: a) the vehicle is available for the requested extended period, and b) the extension request is made before your current reservation ends.
VEHICLE PICKUP, INSPECTION, AND RETURN
- Users must collect the vehicle from the designated bike station provided at the time of booking
- If a vehicle isn’t available due to maintenance, late returns, or other issues, a similar vehicle will be provided within 2hour,in case of failing the amount will be refunded completely.
- While the vehicle’s model, color, or registration number may differ from what was initially indicated, The Wheels will ensure a comparable vehicle is given.
- Before driving off, it’s recommended that users carefully inspect the vehicle and report any noticeable defects to avoid being held accountable later.
- If no defects are reported upon pickup, any damage found afterward will be assumed to have occurred while in your possession. This may result in damage fees, and The Wheels reserves the right to suspend or cancel your membership.
- In cases of theft or damage caused by third parties, the user must contact The Wheels without delay.
- The vehicle, along with its key and any provided accessories, must be returned to the assigned bike station by the end of the rental period, in the same condition as when collected, barring typical wear and tear.
- Delays in returning the vehicle past the rental period will result in additional charges, as mentioned in the Fee Policy.
- The vehicle images displayed on the website or app during booking are for reference purposes only, and the actual vehicle’s color may vary. The Wheels does not guarantee the availability of a specific color.
VEHICLE GUIDELINE AND USER RESPONSIBILITY
- Users must operate the vehicle in compliance with all applicable laws, including the Motor Vehicles Act of 1988, and are prohibited from engaging in any illegal activities while using the vehicle.
- The following actions are strictly prohibited by The Wheels:
- Carrying more than two (2) passengers on the vehicle.
- Allowing pets to ride on the vehicle.
- Operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or other prohibited substances, or consuming tobacco products while on the vehicle.
- Using the vehicle for racing, contests, stunts, or any competitive activities.
- Tampering with, disassembling, or altering the vehicle or its parts without prior permission from The Wheels.
- In the event of a traffic violation while using the vehicle, users must notify The Wheels immediately.
- The user is responsible for all costs and charges incurred during the entire reservation period and until the vehicle is returned in a condition acceptable to The Wheels.
- If the vehicle is operated by someone other than the registered user, this will be considered a Penalty Event.
- Engaging in reckless riding or improper use that leads to excessive wear and tear or damage is also prohibited.
- The user is responsible for paying all fines and penalties resulting from traffic violations (such as parking tickets, speeding, riding without a helmet, or running red lights), and The Wheels bears no responsibility in these matters.
- The rental agreement for the vehicle is non-transferable and cannot be assigned to any third party.
- Transporting illegal, hazardous, or prohibited materials is not allowed.
- Users must ensure they use the correct type of fuel for the vehicle.
- Attaching external structures to the vehicle that could cause damage to it or to other individuals, vehicles, or animals is prohibited.
- Any other inappropriate use of the vehicle is not allowed.
ACCIDENTS AND MECHANICAL ISSUES
- The Wheels maintains its vehicles to the highest standards; however, due to the nature of their use, they may occasionally experience faults or breakdowns.
- It is important to notify The Wheels immediately about any breakdowns or incidents involving the vehicle. We will ensure that a mechanic or professional is dispatched to address the issue, or we will provide a replacement vehicle.
- In the event of an accident that causes damage to the vehicle or results in injury or damage to third parties, you must take the following actions:
- Inform The Wheels immediately.
- Complete an official police report form.
- Provide an accident report to The Wheels as prescribed.
- You must supply the following information to The Wheels:
- The date, time, and location of the accident.
- License plate numbers of any other vehicles involved.
- Names, addresses, and driver’s license numbers of all individuals involved, or the owner’s details if they are not driving.
- Names, addresses, and phone numbers of witnesses, passengers, and any other relevant individuals, if possible.
- A description of the circumstances surrounding the accident.

- Users will be responsible for all costs related to repairs, recovery, and loss of use of the vehicle resulting from the accident, to the extent that such costs are not covered by insurance.
- You acknowledge that you will be fully accountable for all damages and expenses arising from your failure to comply with these terms.
VIOLATION
- In the case of a violation of any terms outlined in this Agreement, the user is responsible for compensating for any damage caused to the vehicle(s) and/or The Wheels due to such violation.
- If the violation involves serious consequences, The Wheels reserves the right to take appropriate legal action against the user.
- If the breach does not involve serious consequences, The Wheels has the discretion to impose penalties as outlined in the Fee Policy.
LIABILITY AND INDEMNIFICATION
- You agree that any claims, theft, damage, or liabilities that happen while you have the vehicle are your responsibility. This includes any penalties or fines related to your use of the vehicle, and you must cover those costs.
- You also agree to protect The Wheels, including its staff and representatives, from any claims, damages, or costs (like legal fees) that arise from third-party lawsuits related to your use or possession of the vehicle.
TERMINATION
- The Wheels can end these Terms or your access to our services if you violate any of the provisions, with or without notice.
- We may also stop providing services to you or all users if it becomes impractical or unfeasible to continue.
- Sections of these Terms that still apply will remain in effect even after termination.
- In addition to our termination rights, we have the authority to enforce and pursue any violations of these Terms.
DRINK AND DRIVE POLICY FOR THE WHEELS

Policy Statement
The Wheels has a zero-tolerance policy towards drinking and driving. The safety of our customers and the community is our top priority. We are committed to preventing accidents and ensuring responsible vehicle usage.
Scope
This policy applies to all customers renting vehicles from The Wheels.
Policy Details
1. Prohibited Conduct
- o Driving a rented vehicle under the influence of alcohol or any illegal substances is strictly prohibited.
- o Customers must adhere to all relevant laws regarding alcohol consumption and driving.
2. Legal Compliance
- o All drivers must comply with Indian traffic laws, particularly the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988. Under Section 185 of this Act, the legal blood alcohol concentration (BAC) limit is 0.03%. Driving above this limit is a punishable offense.
- o We reserve the right to refuse service if a driver is suspected of exceeding this limit.
3. Consequences of Violation
- o If a customer is found driving under the influence while renting our vehicle, their rental agreement will be terminated immediately.
- o The customer will be held liable for any damages, legal fees, or penalties incurred as a result of their actions.
- o The incident will be reported to the authorities as mandated under Section 185 and other relevant sections of the Motor Vehicles Act.
4. Customer Responsibility
- o Customers are encouraged to plan ahead if they intend to consume alcohol, including arranging alternative transportation.
- o We provide information about local taxi services and rideshare options for safe transportation.
5. Legal Actions
- o In case of an accident resulting from drunk driving, the customer may face criminal charges, including but not limited to:
- Section 184: Driving dangerously.
- Section 185: Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
- Section 189: Penalties for endangering human life.
Governing Law
- These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of India, and any disputes arising out of this agreement, will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Bangalore.
